Welcome to TrailDNA – Where Riding Runs in Our Blood

At TrailDNA, mountain biking is more than a passion — it’s part of who we are.
Born from weekend trail rides, muddy tyres, scraped knees, and unforgettable father-son adventures, our brand represents a lifelong connection to the outdoors.

Our Story

TrailDNA began with a dad, Steve, and his young son, Ethan.
For most families, weekends meant shopping malls or screen time — but for them, freedom lived on the trails. What started as small, wobbly rides soon turned into a shared obsession for mountain biking.

Together, they explored new trails, celebrated every climb and descent, and learned from falls, failures, and epic wins. Each adventure strengthened their bond and deepened their love for the MTB lifestyle. Those moments shaped our identity and inspired the belief that riding isn’t just a hobby — it’s in our DNA.

The Problem We Saw

After countless weekends outdoors, one thing became clear:
Reliable, well-designed MTB gear made by people who truly understood riders was surprisingly hard to find.

The market was overflowing with products — but few could keep up with real trails, real riders, and real conditions.

So, we decided to build what was missing.

How TrailDNA Was Born

TrailDNA was created with one simple purpose:

To design MTB essentials that riders genuinely need — durable, practical, and tested in the real world.

Every product is inspired by the ride itself.
From socks that stay put while you pedal, to accessories that endure mud, wind, and rough terrain — our gear is tested on the same trails where our journey began.

If it’s not worthy of our rides, it doesn’t earn the TrailDNA name.

Our Mission

We exist to support riders — beginners, weekend adventurers, and seasoned mountain bikers alike — with gear that performs where it matters most: on the trail.

We believe riding is more than an activity.
It encourages resilience, confidence, adventure, and most importantly — connection.

Our Promise

✅ Durable, trail-tested gear
✅ Designed by real riders
✅ Practical products you’ll actually use
✅ Constant pursuit of performance and comfort

If we won’t use it, we won’t sell it.

More Than a Brand – A Community

TrailDNA is about relationship, memory, and legacy.
Just like Steve and Ethan, we hope to inspire riders of all ages to explore deeper, push harder, and share their trail stories across generations.

Whether you’re a downhill thrill-seeker, a weekend explorer, or just starting your mountain biking journey…

Welcome to the family.
You’re one of us now — because at TrailDNA,

Meet Our Team

Steve Wightman

Steve Wightman

Founder

Steve is the driving force behind TrailDNA and the reason it all kicked off. A lifelong rider with a proper love for the trails, he built the brand to help riders find MTB products and accessories that are dialled, dependable, and actually reasonably priced.

Frustrated by overpriced gear that didn’t always deliver, Steve set out to create a brand that keeps things simple—solid kit, fair prices, and built for real-world riding.

When he’s not working on the next idea, you’ll find him out on the trails chasing lines, getting muddy, and staying stoked with the MTB fam.

Built by a rider, for riders—without the premium price tag.

Ethan Wightman

Ethan Wightman

Co-Founder

Ethan is the next generation behind TrailDNA and already making moves on the bike. As Steve’s son and joint co-founder, he’s grown up around the brand and the trails—so it was only a matter of time before he got fully involved.

At just 10 years old, Ethan is getting into racing and building his skills every time he rides. Whether it’s local tracks or weekend sessions, he’s all about progression, confidence, and having a proper good time on the bike.

He’s a big part of what TrailDNA stands for—making MTB accessible, fun, and affordable for riders of all ages.

Future racer. Full send energy. Watch this space. 🚵‍♂️🔥

Oscar “Oz” Millard

Oscar “Oz” Millard

Brand Ambassador

Oscar, is one to watch on the TrailDNA team. A young rider with serious determination, his progression on the bike has been nothing short of unreal.

What makes it even more impressive? He’s only been riding for just a short time.

Oscar absorbs everything like a sponge—tell him something once, and he’ll go out and show you exactly how it’s done on the bike. That natural ability, combined with his drive to improve, has already seen him step into racing and start landing podium finishes.

He’s a perfect example of what happens when passion meets progression.

Fast learner. Future podium regular. Proper little sender. 🚵‍♂️🔥

Kayden Wall

Kayden Wall

Brand Ambassador & Racer

Kayden is one of TrailDNA’s young racers making moves on the national scene. At 17, he’s already competing at a high level—impressive considering he only picked up MTB a few years ago.

Since day one, he’s been hooked. Always out on the trails, always pushing to level up, and constantly chasing that next bit of progression.

Always chasing the next adventure, the next challenge, and the next story, Kayden embodies what it means to live and breathe MTB.

Now part of the TrailDNA team, Kayden’s just getting started—and he’s properly fired up for what’s ahead.

National level. Full focus. Big future incoming. 🚵‍♂️🔥

Ross Stewart

Ross Stewart

Brand Ambassador

Ross brings serious experience and even more passion to the TrailDNA crew. Riding MTB since the late ’80s, he’s still just as fired up—rain, shine, mud, or miles.

For Ross, MTB isn’t just a hobby. It’s his reset, his switch-off, and his way of getting outdoors and exploring. From long XC and trail missions to bikepacking adventures, big challenge days, and muddy winter laps—he’s always up for it. Throw in a bit of enduro at the bike park, and he’s right at home.

He’s also no stranger to a proper test of grit, regularly taking on gruelling fundraising challenges to support well-deserved charities—pushing himself for a cause as well as the ride.

Experience. Adventure. Purpose. Stoke for life. 🚵‍♂️🔥

Mark Robson

Mark Robson

Brand Ambassador

Mark is a true example of what MTB is all about—passion, resilience, and just getting out there when you can. A 50-year-old dad and husband, he’s also a full-time carer for his disabled wife and son, so riding time isn’t always guaranteed—but when he gets the chance, he makes it count.

You’ll usually find him out on the trails across the North of England and Scottish Borders, mixing it up between trail centres and bike parks. Whether it’s smooth runs or something a bit more sketchy, Mark’s always up for the ride.

After a huge crash at Descend Bike Park earlier this year, Mark’s been focused on recovery post-surgery, documenting the whole process and showing what it takes to get back on the bike.

Real life. Real riding. Proper determination. 🚵‍♂️🔥
